Assistant / Associate Professor - Business Analytics

About the Job

Job Title: Applications are invited from interested candidates for the position of Assistant Professor at the Department of Business Analytics, GITAM School of Business Hyderabad Campus.

Requirement

We are looking for Faculty for the Department of Business Analytics to:

• Develop and deliver undergraduate and/or graduate courses in business analytics, data analysis, statistics, and related fields.
• Create engaging course materials, including lectures, assignments, projects, and exams.
• Use innovative teaching methods to enhance student learning, such as case studies, simulations, and real-world applications.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to students, including advising on academic and career goals.

Roles and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Evaluating and grading students' work, including work performed in design studios.
• Preparing and delivering lectures to undergraduate or graduate students and ensuring proper learning outcomes.
• Initiating, facilitating, and moderating classroom discussions and guiding class interactions.
• Conducting original research in business analytics, data science, machine learning, and other relevant areas.
• Publishing research findings in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and other scholarly outlets.
• Collaborating with colleagues, industry partners, and students on research projects and seeking external funding for research endeavors.
• Supervising undergraduate or graduate teaching, internships, and research work.

Skillset / Professional Background Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

• Experience with relevant software and programming languages such as R, Python, SQL, SAS, or MATLAB.
• Industry experience or professional certifications in business analytics, data science, or related fields.
• Familiarity with emerging trends and technologies in data analytics and business intelligence.
• Ability to engage with industry partners and contribute to applied research projects.

Education & Experience

The candidate should possess:

• Ph.D. from an Accredited University.
• For Assistant Professor: Ph.D. with minimum teaching experience.
• For Associate Professor: Minimum of 8 years of Teaching/Industry/Research experience, with at least 3 years at the Assistant Professor level.
• For Professor: Minimum of 8 years of Teaching/Industry/Research experience, with at least 4 years at the Associate Professor level.
